I feel misled

Over 2 years ago I purchased this app with the hope that the hopelessly outdated interface would be upgraded and more features added. The text on this page said “Free upgrade to next version” which clearly implied that a new version was coming. After several queries to the developer about the “next version” and 2 years passed, there is no new version. I’ve lost confidence that it will ever happen and that this app is abandonware like many other password apps. The app basically works but the interface is so dated and ugly it has lost it’s space in my dock.

Reliable ….

Have this on Mac Pro, iPhone, iPad. Sync works flawlessly.

Password and Identity “Storage” Only

This is not a password app like 1Password or Lastpass. Those apps install plugins in your devices and browsers and automatically input your stored data. This is simply a password vault. A tool that helps you store and, more importantly, organize and find your identity information. As such, it does a pretty good job - I’ve just been using a simple text editor that can encrypt files, but there’s an obvious benefit to the better organization and search that this device offers. Everytime you need to access a resource, you have to unlock the app and copy/paste the credentials. This isn’t too hard to do, and to be honest, I’ve trialled 1Password, and the browser plugin would popup all the time and bug the crap out of me. Overall this is good tool, but you need to be aware it’s just secure storage and recovery.

My favorite password app yet

I just wanted an app that stored my passwords seamlessly across all of my many Apple devices, and am happy to report mSecure does the job. Once it’s set up, punch in a new password and literally within seconds it was on everything else, and I never had to think twice about it. Well done!

convenient and powerful!

love it !!!!!!

Works okay but missing features

For $20 one would expect to work well and also having to pay $10 for iOS. Works very well to store passwords but could be much better. Issues 1. Auto login/copy user information on websites in non existent on osx. This doesnt make sense as it works pretty well on iOS using msecures browser. MUST ADD THIS FEATURE AS THE AUTO-COPY IN PREFERENCES DOESNT WORK FOR MOST SITES. 2. Needs to have auto sync feature for dropbox. I havent used iCloud but we sync info as a family and share dropbox account which works when you start program to sync but overtime it doesnt auto update. Simple menu item to sync but for parents it would be nice to have auto sync or a button on main screen to do so.

Good App

For years I used an Excel spreadsheet…since buying my mac I thought I would check some applications out. I tested1Password. Looks nice, but I didn’t like the price, so I went with mSecure. My few issues are minor so I would recommend this app: 1 - What used to fit on onepage for printing now takes several pages. thee is a lot of wasted space on the printed version and Iwould like more ability to format the reporting. (Yes, I print a copy JUST IN CASE….old habits die hard… 2 - Big difference between this and 1Password is the lack of an integrated web browser. with 1Password, there was a good autfill widget that linked with 1Password. I don’t use the auto-password generator because of that…There is a paste function, but it seems cheesy…. the synch between the iPhone app and Mac at home is seemless. I like it a lot and it is very handy to have both the iphone app and the Mac version.

Good password manager App that has been steadily improving.

I originally purchased this app on Snow Leopard for two reasons. It was on sale and it wasn’t the most popular password manager and generator. Though I’m not really sure how true this is, I’ve always suspected that the most widely used personal data and password storage programs are more likely to be compromised simply because thier larger user base attracts more hackers. Just like Windows really isn’t all that less secure than OSX, it’s just that Microsoft has a much larger share of the PC market which makes them a juicer target. Since my original purchase, mSecure has vastly improved with the addition of iCloud support (much better than when they used dropbox) and now works flawlessly and quickly in syncing all of my passwords throughout the OSX and iOS platforms. The few qubbles I still have are that in this update I am now for some reason automatically signed in to the App when I open it and I’m not sure if this is a setting I need to change or a bug, but it only is a problem on my Desktop computer and not an issue on any of my iOS devices. Still I’d hate to think that if someone were to break in and get to my desktop computer the App will let them have access to all my passwords without requiring them to enter my master password to open up. Apart from that, it works well and though it lacks the browser support for password entry that 1Password has, mSecure will allow you to create totally new custom templets for any catigory of passwords, logins or other sensitive information you can think of. From reading the reviews, I gather that 1Password still has yet to impement the creation of custom templates. The ultimate decition on what works best for your needs is up to you, but I’ve been pretty happy with mSecure and seeing the usability of this app expand over time; the updates in compatiblily and user friendliness I have seen this app go through makes me sure that the developer is as concerned at getting this app near as possible to perfection as I had hoped when I purchased it years ago.

Preferred above all the others

I’ve tried lots of password managers and I find this one to be the best. It works smoothly, looks good and is extremely flexible so that it’s good for everything from website logins to credit cards, to secure notes. It lacks formal “cloud” support but it offers instant sync via email which to me is still very convenient. Used in conjunction with the MSecure desktop app it is very easy to manage large amounts of data efficiently as well (I have about 200 unique passwords to keep track of). Overall this is just a great app. And if you are concerned about the fact that it uses Blowfish-256 encryption instead of the more popular AES-256 encryption I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that while Blowfish is older and possibly more secure in some ways, but not as well tested as AES it basically comes down to this fact; it would take a supercomputer and government hack geniuses to break either code and no one in your typical city or workplace or circle of aquaintenaces is going to be able to hack this. If you are working with government top secret classified files then you’re not going to use a $20 app to keep your secrets. This is for the rest of us civilians who want an app that works great, is extremely secure and has all the flexibility and features you could ask for.

Simple, customizable and it just plain works

I love the fact that I can add fields and have them appear across a group. I manage 80+ locations with unique passwords. If I have to add something new, I do it in the Edit Types section and all 80+ have the new field. Nice!!! Really fast searches and flawless synching across my other iDevices, it’s the best password app out there!

Application will not sync from notebook to phone.

I have reached out to mSecure about this problem and there has been no resolution. I purchased this application last week and loaded it directly onto my powerbook. Attempts to sync from my laptop to my iPhone 5s have failed. I need the application on my Iphone or it is worthless to me. I am getting ready to delete the application and use something else. $19.99 for an application is a lot of money. $19.99 for an application that does not sync is a travesty.

Good but laptop-to-laptop fails

Did I mess up by not buying a second copy for the second laptop? This wasn’t announced in the above information: when I bought it on one laptop in the App Store, it was *automatically* downloaded to the other. Nonetheless, I also bought it on my iOS devices. Sync works fine on those. On the laptops, the sync icon on the bar is grayed out. Over and over, on each of two laptops, I hit up Sync for Wi-Fi sync. (The laptops are on the same network, a foot apart.) No dice. I sent an email to support. No response. Dang! Sync on the laptops is a worthless piece of garbage. (So is news that I may have to spend $20 more to buy a copy for the other laptop. Dang!) Hey developers! Won’t you please, please help me?

Great app and syncs between mac and iPhone

It is a great app that stores passwords ad pretty much anything else you want, you can also edit and add new items to save.

Great app - Password syncing across Apple OSX and iOS!

Been using this app for almost a year. Great app! It automatically syncs/updates between my iPhone5, iPad4 and iMac(early 2009) w/OSX Mavericks - I enter into any one of the three and it updates to the other two. Plus, it has a backup feature in case something goes wrong (corrupt file - ?), but nothing has gone wrong with the data in the app. I have a different password for every account I sign up with (100+) and this app keeps track of them and I can easily access them. All I have to remember is the password to get into mSecure. Very easy to use and I feel that it is very secure

This is the Best and Most important piece of software I own!

I have been runnng this software on my iPhone, my Desktop PC and my laptop PC for over 2 years now. mSecure is phenomenal! That said, I just purchassed it for my new MacBook Air, and love the automatic iCloud sync to my IOS devices! Just awesome that I don’t even have to tell it to sync, it just does it in a flash! As well, mSecure’s customer service is the best. I have had a few questions over the years, and they are very friendly and helpful! No affiliation what so ever with this company other then they have my $ and I have a great product!

Great Customer Support

I had a problem - operator error. Support, specifically Nick R. was AWESOME - very responsive, polite, and helpful. So far the program has been great, but admittedly, I just installed it. I just wanted to officially say thanks for your great help in getting me straightened out!! Very Good Support A++++

Really good app, really frustrating customer service

I really do love this app, but then i had a problem. And guess what? You cannot speak to anyone. Yep — you get back an email saying we are such a small company we do have phone support. And no, they do not have live chat either. So, whn you have an issue, you send an email and wait, like the old fashioned folsk who played chess by mail. Shoot folks — we are in a 24/7 world. Catch your sutomer service up to your app and it’s 5 stars.

Needs 1password import.

Like another reviewer said, it needs 1password import. I am trying to convert to msecure..but with no option to import, i am left hanging on to 1password and that has kept me from even using this app. I still find myself using my old version of 1password. It would be extremely time consuming to import my data one by one into msecure, and because of that, I have never used it.

Works great, but...

The app works really great, for desktop and for iPhone, but is starting to look really old.

Serious Sync Problems

The app is great except for one huge flaw… syncing. If you forget to click the sync button and close the app too soon you run the risk of losing the passwords and account information. There has been numerous occassions where I have forgotten to do this and lost everything I have entered. Also using 2 devices at the same time can cause sync problems too. Sometimes my phone will overwrite what I entered on my computer if they are out of sync. I still think this is a great program, you just need to be careful with it when syncing information back to the cloud.
